IETE President at APIIT

Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT) SD India, Panipat with professional organization IETE organised one day “ISF-APIIT Annual Meet 2010” under the banner of IETE Student Forum (ISF) with activities “Kaun Banega Champion (KBC)-A Quiz Show” based upon top ten IT companies profiles and “Group Presentation on Future Challenges in IT” on 20 March 2010 at APIIT Auditorium, Panipat, Haryana. IETE President Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Ashok Agarwal was present as Chief Guest along with other dignitaries on this occasion. In his inaugural address Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Ashok Agarwal, President, IETE emphasized that Indian Engineers make their name with golden plait in the global market. He further indicated that future of IT is very bright in all the nations. He said that IT concept has become true now. Still the telecommunication should penetrate more into the rural areas.

The event was graced by Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Choudhary, Director, APIIT SD INDIA, Panipat and Mr. Ravi Sachdeva, IETE Student Forum (ISF) Chairman, APIIT SD INDIA, Panipat. Prof. (Dr.) R.K.Choudhary, Director of APIIT SD INDIA, welcomed guests and highlighted the contribution of APIIT SD INDIA as an organizational member of IETE from the last 5 years. He further stated that ISF is one of the most important and active forums in APIIT through which the latest technologies and systems enabling information and knowledge to students. Mr. Ravi Sachdeva presented the briefing about ISF activities.

The ISF-APIIT Annual Meet organized two activities “Kaun Banega Champion (KBC)-Quiz Show” and “Group Presentation on Future Challenges in IT” with the objective of let the students aware about top IT employers and new trends in IT.

In activity “Future Challenges in IT” five groups represented different emerging fields in Information Technology. A panel of judges narrowed down the entries to a list of finalists, and evaluated one winner and one runner up based on various parameters like communication skills, presentations skills, and technical knowledge etc. Members of the winner group of the activity ,Mr. Swapnendu Sarkar and Mr. Rohit Raj were presented memento and Rs. 1100/- cash prize for the group. The runner up group members Mr. Vishal Rajpal and Mr. Madhur Trivedi, received memento by the chief guest.

In activity “Kaun Banega Champion-Quiz Show” twenty teams were participated in the Fastest Finger First round and four teams played on the hot seat and one team was finally declared as the winner. Members of the winning team of the activity KBC-Mr. Anand Raj, Ms. Sneha Basu and Mr. Shishir-were presented memento and Rs. 1100/- cash prize for the team by the chief guest.At the end, ISF Student Chairman Mr. Ankit Kumar gave vote of thanks to the Chief Guest and the audience.
